CULTURE & ART

Varna is filled with interesting cultural attractions. You can enjoy a great deal of museums, libraries, theatres. Among them are the Archaeological Museum, where you’ll discover some of the most interesting artefacts in the world, The Roman and The Small Roman Thermae, the Aladzha Monastery, City Art Gallery with unique exhibits. Let’s not forget the Varna International Ballet Competition held twice a year and the only such museum on the Balkans - the Museum of Medicine.

BUSINESS & DEVELOPMENT

Throughout the last decade, Varna has become one of the central hubs in Bulgaria for business development - and the IT industry. The strong interest businesses have in the city is not unusual - there are five universities, many language schools and ambitious young people. There is dynamic growth of international and local companies on the market and competitive recruitment for talent. Тhere are accelerators and business incubators, as well as high-tech coworking spaces.

FUN & LIFE

Let’s face it, you already know that life in Varna is fun and always filled with sunny moments. Take а stroll in the Sea Garden, breathe the fresh sea air and live it up on the beach after work. Тhere are a lot of great places to visit and restaurants with great food and venues for musical concerts where the musical scene of Varna comes to play. You can venture on sports activities, take up dancing classes (there is a great salsa & bachata community) and even go sailing.

FAMILY TIME

Parks, malls, museums and, of course, beautiful beaches make Varna wonderful place to explore and live with your loved ones. Varna’s Amusement park (part of the Sea Garden) offers great ways to entertain kids with carousels, a lake with dinghies, ferris wheels and a lot of other attractions. Тhe city is vibrant and colorful but there is also calmness in daily life. And of course, there is the The State Puppet Theatre and Aquopolis (the first water park in Bulgaria).

ATMOSPHERE & SPIRIT

If you have to explain Varna with one word it would probably be: cool. There are rituals in the city like having a favorite drink on the pedestrianized boulevard, where small and big coffee shops and fresh breakfast in the morning; walking the quiet parks, listening to jazz on the street; getting takeout and having fun with friends on the beach. And all is connected to the sea the smell of the air, the seaside shows with dolphins at Festa Dolphinarium and the sand in shoes.

CLOSE TO...

Outside of the city in a day’s journey you can find some really awesome places to visit. One of them is the Stone Forest, which looks like something out of a fairytale and it’s only 20 km outside of the city. There are beautiful sand dunes and old river beds all around Varna - you just have to explore and you will never be sorry. Historical places like Aladzha Monastery in the Golden Sands Natural Park and Ovech Fortress overlooking Provadia are also really close.

I joined ScaleFocus because I was looking for a new challenge. I see a lot of opportunities to grow both my technical and my people skills. Meeting new and amazing people on the way is an awesome experience.
